Christmas Shopping.

Gone Christmas shopping. I may be some time. If I don't come back Puddy likes sliced ham and room temperature milk. The other two like anything you give them.

All done and dusted at the embassy - went in first thing on Friday morning was finished and home by lunchtime.

Now they just need to be wrapped. Eek!

Luckily, I had the foresight to buy nothing but square pressies. (Rubik's Cube's all 'round then!)

Ham?! Do my eyes deceive me?

I was feeling rather smug as I had bought a bunch and parceled them all up (I was heading away and dropping them off, so this behaviour was truly out of character). I was gloating to a mate about my wee early December arsenal who remarked, 'Hmmm, blue and white striped paper, purple tape and pink card, well done on the Christmas theme, Kate.'

Bloody grinch.

Our Pookie is also a fan of sliced ham. It must be Virginia baked ham, however. She just turns up her nose at any other sort of ham. She's quite persnickety in her old age.

Hope you survived the shopping!

One of my cats is only eating chicken or turkey meat from a can. None of that canned cat food for her - nosirreeebob. Don't know why else they even make canned chicken or turkey - do HUMANS actually buy and eat that stuff? Bleugh.

Haven't started Christmas shopping. Think I'll do it all on-line this year, have them wrapped and delivered so I don't have to do it myself. Bah-humbug.

God be with you. Alternatively, I wish you sharp elbows and a keen eye for That Thing You Were Looking For.

I'm gift card-ing it up this year--the nieces and nephews have gotten to that stage where they certainly don't want anything their tragically unhip aunt and uncle get them, and I am simply not going to invest the time deciding whether they prefer Akon over Ne-Yo.

Sweet jebus in a MTV crib. We got to Dundrum early, empty car park, quiet mall, pleasant efficient staff, some seconds later and the world and its mother was there, everyone was snarling and there were children howling all over the place. EEK.
Our living room is now 45% telly, 45% tree, the other 10% is for falling over in.
'But Paramour' I said, 'It's a redwood.'
'It's only 6 foot something.' he scoffed.
'Yeah, WIDE.'
We must now decorate it, let the fun, games and cat climbing begin.

I was out shopping twice without any crowds or mayhem and had decent service.
Must be the economy.

I've got the selection boxes. Do I need to get anything else? Tell the cats that a live bird is a great thing on the christmas tree, if they can get one in the cat flap.

Blogger fatmammycat said...

That's happened to me on more than one occasion, and the last time they dragged a bird in they moved it all upstairs to the bedroom so no bloody waaaay. We have a box load of decorations that we are studiously avoiding. I suspect we are waiting for one another to get cracking. HAH, he may wait.

PS... surely Nutgrove is more appropriate than Dundrum for these recessionary times?

3:01 p.m.
Blogger fatmammycat said...

Fark no, I find that place very very depressing.

3:10 p.m.
Blogger Unknown said...

Exactly, it's perfect!

And you don't have to pay for parking neither.

3:18 p.m.
Blogger fatmammycat said...

You don't have to pay for parking in Dundrum either if you do some shopping in Tescos.
No, I can't do Nutgrove. It makes my heart sink. I feel the same way about Stillorgan.

Its all there.... in 'The Square'.

Actually, it looks like The Square is getting something of a makeover. Looks like it will be a bit daycent when it's done.

I can't believe I'm discussing the merits of different shopping centres. I feel so old - going for a spin on the bike to rectify matters.

Blogger fatmammycat said...

I hear you. But needs really must at this time of year. Boo.

3:27 p.m.
Blogger Unknown said...

But Dundrum is insane, it's an English high street crammed into a huge windowless hole in the ground. On the other hand Stillorgan is the original (and only) Irish 'mall' from the late 1960s. Nutgrove is basically the same as the Ilac Centre but marooned in the burbs...

If you get there early enough it's grand. Clearly by early I mean before the crack of dawn. Something I failed today.
Right, I'm off to light a fire. It's so cold I can't feel my fingers and I refuse to turn the heating on this early.

"I refuse to turn the heating on this early"

...but oil is sooooo cheap at the moment... (eh, sorry if you're on the gas!)

You really make it seem really easy together with your presentation but I
find this matter to be actually something which I feel I would by no means understand.
It sort of feels too complicated and extremely huge
for me. I am taking a look ahead in your subsequent submit,
I'll try to get the hold of it!

This design is incredible! You most certainly
know how to keep a reader entertained. Between your wit and
your videos, I was almost moved to start my own blog
(well, almost...HaHa!) Great job. I really enjoyed what you had to say, and more than that, how you presented
it. Too cool!

I was curious if you ever thought of changing the page layout
of your blog? Its very well written; I love what youve got
to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better.
Youve got an awful lot of text for only having 1 or
2 images. Maybe you could space it out better?

I've been surfing online more than 3 hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours. It's pretty worth enough
for me. Personally, if all site owners and bloggers made good content
as you did, the net will be much more useful than ever before.
