motivation for Fatcats and possibly for chumlies of Fatcats.

Top of el Sabado to you all! A day that started of glumly is now sunnny. Huzzah!
I am just back form the park where a I and a Country Gay and two others did trip the light fandango up and down Chesterfield Avenue. Egad t'was a sprightly run too, due in no small part to the vind and ze rain.
However, first things first.
Monday- bank holiday, Country Gay and I tackle an 8k run but add a few extra ks in for good measure, culminating in slightly under 12k each over all. I feel very proud of him. He's only been running two months you know and he's doing brilliantly.

Tuesday,-45 minutes on the bike. 17k
Laps of gym carrying 40k x4
Bicep curls 10k X10 X4-no wobbles at all! Huzzah!
Shoulder press 10k X10X 4
Lat pull down 35KX10X4

Wendesday-
30 pull-ups, broken into sets of 10, dropped grav counter weight to 25k. heee.
Cross overs, 6.5kx 3x 4.
45 minutes run, nailed the 5k in 28.35, stopped at 30 mins and did last 15 mins over a variety of terrains. There were some hills. I feel the same way about hills as I do about steps.
Cool down. Lots of stretching.

Thursday, actually I was feeling a little poorly on Thursday, but I did mow the lawn and clip a hedge. Not exercise per se though.
Friday, have cold sore, feeling meh.

Satdee! By the power of frenadal and some- not much-carlsberg I run a rather nifty 5 miles with CG and the Chaps. It is good, I feel better. And I am looking forward to next week's BUPA race.

I'm still in a fairly good, but boring, pattern. Last weekend I kicked my own ass on the elliptical - typical weekend workouts - 50+ minutes elliptical, yoga stretches, ab work, free weights, lunges, squats, leg lifts, etc., etc. Very, very sore. Mondays and Fridays I rest, but...

Tuesday, up early, yoga stretches, 40 minutes elliptical and ab work.

Wednesday, 30 minutes elliptical, lunges, free weights - 10lb. tricep curls, X15X2, bicep curls.

Thursday 2o minutes elliptical on very high resistance, more ab wheel, yoga stretches, lunges, tricep curls.

Today - as soon as i'm finished with this whole wheat toast with peanut butter and banana, and it digests a tiny bit, I'm going to kick my own arse again. Aided by the carbs from about half a dozen Guinnesses last night (I SHOULD be hungover, but I've been spared!), it should be a doozy. Same tomorrow, I hope. Though there will be drinking this afternoon into the evening. Maybe I'll start another cleanse next week - still off coffee, but I seem to be making up for lost time with the hooch...and so I'm maintaining weight instead of losing and I MUST lose a few inches of fat by May.

Nicely balanced week darling. How many inches are you aiming for?

Oh, I dunno. Haven't measured anything - it just seems that there's a layer of fat all over me, covering up the lovely hard muscles beneath. I know I have muscles under there, I can hear them whispering...and though my clothes are fitting better and I feel taller and thinner, I actually weigh MORE than when I started. But this layer of flab must go.

Last Saturday 2000 steps on the stepper machine followed by conditioning machines til my muscles sang sweet Jesus.

Sunday, nowt. Long walk with the girls but we're all a bit chesty.

Insomnia all this week which I know regular trips to the gym would help but am just too tired and lazy. I jogged 3 miles yesterday morning after the girls left for school.

Today, there is a kids class at the gym so I'll get 45 minutes or so to get on the elliptical or whatever's free. What I need is a goal to put a fire up my arse.

What day's the BUPA run on? It'll be a cake-run for you, toots. I envy your level of fitness.

Hey FMC, make sure to ease up later in the week for your race. Important not to cram, like with an exam!! I'm starting to taper so with the reduced running am planning little cycles and even some abseiling!! AAArgghh, scared of heights!

Big leaps this week. The training is starting to pay off.

Monday 90 mins indoor bike wattage training. In my zone 4 I sustained 285 watts.Followed with 20 mins run.

Tuesday - 3000 metre swim, included a straight 1500 in the middle - made 22 mins! PB big time.

Wed 90 mins wattage, sustained 300 watts in my zone 4 and held 350 watts at zone 5 for a minute.

Thursday - 3000 metre swim, all speed work. Was bolloxed that night.

Friday 2 hour mtn bike ride, PB on the course.

Sat 35 minute run, 6 x 15 sec hill sprints, 5 minute cool down.

mmmmm 48rs of rest ahead!

BTW Aishling is right - your taper is as important as your training.

I suck.
I do an hour walk with the pups in the afternoon and that's it.

You folks are kicking ass, though.

I whined and pouted and nearly cried last Sunday, but I went running anyway. Did 4.5 miles stopping to walk only as long as it took to peel off my outer layer. That surprised the hell out of me, as I generally do the run/walk thing and have never gone over 4 before.
Monday-Wednesday yoga
Tuesday ran a little bit, but sore toe started bleeding, and I didn't want to ruin my shoes so I did pilates instead.
Friday walked my ass all over campus to and fro.
Today, nothing (unless watching basketball counts).
Tomorrow, 5 miles!

I do feel like either the old lady or the just-got-her-bike-but-still-has-training wheels compared to you lot. But still. This week pool forty lengths, thirty lengths and a fifty. Wish they'd hurry up inventing the water proof ipod, though.

laughykate you can get waterproof earphones for swimming, I've seen a girl in my gym with a strange looking headset:

That's a lot of lengths BTW, I can barely manage ten!

Morning FMC! It is early but a great morning, if a little cold (I've been cycling, it's always cold on a bike!)

True, very true. I believe I will spend the day lollygagging about. Tomorrow CG and I are doing the 10k route in the park. But today, lollygagging.
